BRYC Basketball Winter Rec League

The Winter league recreational season typically begins in mid-November with team formation. Practices begin the week after Thanksgiving.  The season runs thru the last weekend in February.

During the season, practices are held one weekday evening per week for one hour at a local school gym or community center with one game per weekend. Games can be scheduled on Saturdays and/or Sundays.

Teams are offered for players ages Pre-K (age 4) thru High School. 

The winter rec season will run with strictly enforced Covid protocols that follow regulations set by the Virginia High School League (VHSL), the State of Virginia as well as recommendations from the CDC.  Covid protocols are being constantly reviewed and updated based on new health guidance.

BRYC Basketball offers a 3/4th grade boys tryout based advanced recreational league.  The league is designed for players who have played basketball for a few seasons and would like to play at a more competitive level with the intent to move forward wth county travel basketball in the 5th grade.  As with the traditional grade level rec league, practice is one weekday evening per week for one hour and one game per weekend. 

NOTE - Masks are required for all in the gym including players, coaches and spectators.  Players may remove masks during active exercise/game play, but must wear masks entering and exiting the gym as well as while on the sideline.   Coaches and spectators must wear a mask at all times.
